The Castro is a cashless venue. Credit cards, debit cards and digital methods of payment are accepted at all points of sale.
On sale dates vary, but shows usually go on sale on Friday at 10am. Venue presale usually starts on the Thursday before at 10am. The best way to receive advance notice of upcoming shows and presale passwords is to join our mailing list and follow our socials at @thecastro_sf
Tickets for all Castro shows are available through apeconcerts.com or thecastro.com. Subject to availability, tickets can also be purchased at The Castro box office, which opens 30 minutes prior to doors.
There are often presales offered before the general public on sale that can be purchased online only via thecastro.com or ticketmaster.com. Please sign up for our newsletter to receive presale information.
The doors typically open 1 hour prior to show time, although this may vary from show to show. Please check our event listing on our website for up to date details.
For the comfort and safety of everyone, please do not bring the following items to The Castro:
- Objects that can be used as projectiles, such as glow sticks and Poi Balls
- Illegal substances
- Alcohol (sold inside the venue)
- Posters or Signs Larger than 8.5″x11″
- Wallet chains or spikes
- Professional video or audio recording equipment, including GoPros:
- Due to most performer’s requests, no professional recording devices, cameras with detachable lenses, or GoPros are allowed.
- Weapons of any kind
- Professional still camera with detachable lens
- Selfie sticks or handles
- Masks or face paint may be worn as long as our staff can verify your photo ID (masks may need to be removed).
- Costumes representing first responders are prohibited.
- Glass bottles, containers or cans
- Fireworks
- Balloons
- Laser pointers
- Large banners or posters
- Skateboards, scooters or personal motorized vehicles
- Strollers
- Pets (with the exception of service animals)
- Drones
- Coolers
- Umbrellas
- Stickers
- We reserve the right to prohibit additional items that may cause injury to others.
A full list of prohibited items is posted at the venue, and we reserve the right to prohibit additional items deemed inappropriate by venue management at any time. Please note there is no reentry into the venue.
For everyone’s safety, security may inspect and remove any item deemed unsafe, disruptive, or otherwise prohibited, regardless of whether it appears on this list. If you choose not to enter after an item is removed, please note that no refunds will be issued.

Yes, everyone requires a ticket regardless of age. Children under four years of age are discouraged except for events specifically geared towards children.
While most shows at The Castro are all ages, some may have age restrictions. Any age restrictions will be listed on the event detail page and ticket link.
The acceptable forms of identification are physical government-issued photo IDs (Driver’s License, Passport, Military ID, etc.) that clearly has your photo, name and birth date. A student ID and photo copies of government issued ID are not acceptable forms of identification.
Professional video or audio recording equipment, including GoPros: Due to most performer’s requests, no professional recording devices, cameras with detachable lenses, or GoPros are allowed.

To purchase wheelchair accessible seating, click the “request accessible tickets” link on the Ticketmaster event page or order in person at The Castro box office.
The will call window opens 30 minutes prior to doors at The Castro box office. Be sure to bring photo ID, the credit card that was used to purchase the tickets, and your Ticketmaster or Ticketweb order number as any or all of these may be required for ticket pick up
