MADONNA: TRUTH OR DARE (known as IN BED WITH MADONNA overseas) is a behind-the-scenes look at Madonna’s relationships with her dancers and crew, her then-boyfriend Warren Beatty, and her family and friends, achieving an intimate glimpse into the boundary-pushing singer’s drive and individuality. Filmed during Madonna’s controversial Blonde Ambition tour in 1990, this documentary was a watershed moment for LGBTQ representation in mainstream entertainment at a time when representation was nearly non-existent, as well as a pioneering work of “reality entertainment” long before reality TV.
