The Castro Theatre is proud to present a special 10th anniversary screening of the groundbreaking film Moonlight. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture, Moonlight explores identity, vulnerability, and self-acceptance through three critical stages of the life of a young Black man named Chiron. Directed by Barry Jenkins, Moonlight examines the societal pressures and harsh environment that force Chiron to hide his true self behind a tough mask, leading to his ultimate journey to find emotional healing and embrace who he really is.
